Euro|Topics relaunched their website during 2016. Features published before that date are still available via an archive website (see related url hyperlinks0Romania's new government presented in January 2017 a proposal for emergency decrees that foresaw a large number of pardons for prisoners, including politicians serving time or facing charges on corruption charges. The government's main argument for the plan was that the country's prisons are overcrowded. Thousands of people took to the streets to protest the plan, and the Romanian press also voiced harsh criticism.
