The report Women and men in decision-making 2007 – analysis of the situation and trends contributes to the implementation of the Commission’s Roadmap for Gender Equality (2006-2010), which has amongst its priorities promoting equal participation of women and men in decision-making. The report aims to raise awareness of the situation. The majority of the data used in the report comes from the database on women and men in decisionmaking, which is managed and regularly updated by the European Commission.
The report shows that even if the European Union’s efforts to increase women’s participation in decision-making have been consistent and certain progress has been achieved, women are still under-represented in all spheres of power in most Member States and in the EU Institutions.
