The objective of the conference was to hold a wide debate among scientists and decision makers on the basis of the ETAN report 'Science Policies in the European Union: promoting excellence through mainstreaming gender equality', about the challenges of the under-representation of women in scientific research, the means and measures needed to tackle the problem through appropriate action taken at different levels of implementation of research policies in Europe. |
