The World Trade Organisation issued a preliminary ruling on 17 July 2002 condemning a US law that awards the proceeds of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties to American companies. The WTO disputes panel found that the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act (known as the Byrd Amendment) violates multilateral rules on anti-dumping and subsidies and called for its repeal. |
