Brussels optimistic over hedge fund regulation

European Parliaments MEPs have reported in February 2010 that they were optimistic about reaching a compromise deal on controversial hedge fund and private equity fund legislation. Report of the first meeting of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament in Brussels, 22 February 2010 to debate the draft proposal.

Subsequently, EurActiv reported that EU Member States in the Council of the European Union are likely to agree on a text of the draft law on the 16 March 2010.
