The Council of the European Union agreed on 14 November 2016 to release a set of conclusions regarding the EU's relations with Iran.

The EU reaffired its commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the wish to develop its relations with Iran in areas of common interest.
