EU reform heat-map: Where do EU countries stand on the UK’s EU reform demands?

Ahead of the much-anticipated release of UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s letter laying out his EU reform and renegotiation demands on the 10 November 2015, Open Europe published on the 8 November 2015 an EU reform heat-map assessing where each EU member state stands on the key proposals likely to be included.

The heat-map was Open Europe’s assessment, based on public statements and private intelligence-gathering, of how each government might react to five of the key proposals likely to be included in the letter:

+ Safeguarding the rights of non-Eurozone countries
+ An end to ‘ever closer union’ for all EU members
+ Limiting EU migrants’ access to welfare
+ A ‘red card’ for national parliaments
+ Deepening the single market, boosting free trade and cutting red tape.
