The European Solidarity Corps is an initiative by the European Commission which creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects that benefits communities and people around Europe.

The initiative was first announced by Jean-Claude Juncker during the European Commission president's annual State of the European Union speech in September 2016. It was officially launched in December 2016.

The European Solidarity Corps brings together two complementary strands: volunteering and occupational activities. The volunteering strand offers young people the opportunity to carry out full-time voluntary service of between two and twelve months in another country. It builds on the European Voluntary Service as well as other EU funding programmes.
