Foreign Affairs Council, 17-18 October 2016

Abstract:

A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held in Luxembourg on 17-18 October 2016. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Discussion on the situation in Syria in light of the latest developments on the grounds, followed by the adoption of conclusions;

+ Discussion on the EU Global Strategy and its implementation, followed by the adoption of conclusions;

+ Discussion on the situation regarding migration;

+ Discussion regarding the relations between Tunisia and the European Union, on the basis of a Communication by the European Commission, followed by the adoption of conclusions;

+ Adoption of a package of decisions on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada

Other topics: CELAC-EU ministers meeting; Situation in DR Congo; Political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina; enhanced partnership with Jordan and Lebanon in connection with the Syrian conflict.
