French minister pushes ‘Google tax’ to bridge telcos funding shortfall

The French minister for the digital economy, Fleur Pellerin, said during a conference in Brussels on the 9 October 2013 that the top five US-based internet companies were stifling European innovation in new technologies and should be more tightly regulated and taxed.
