Press Release: School scheme for milk, fruits and vegetables

The Council of the European Union adopted on 11 April 2016 a regulation aimed at promoting the consumption of milk, fruits and vegetables in schools.

The new scheme had an overall yearly budget of €250 million (milk products: €100 million; fruit and vegetables: €150 million). The EU contribution was allocated to member states for the supply of these products in educational establishments.
