EU Foreign Ministers meeting in a special Council session, Brussels, 13 August 2008 to discuss the crisis in Georgia. Ministers debated sending international peacekeeping monitors to Georgia's breakaway region of South Ossetia to uphold an EU-brokered truce between Russia and Georgia.

President George W Bush said the US will use military aircraft and naval forces to deliver aid to Georgia following its conflict with Russia.
