Special Committee on Agriculture approved informal agreement on EU School Fruit, Vegetables and Milk Scheme

The Council of the European Union's special committee on agriculture (SCA) approved on 16 December 2015 the informal agreement reached on a proposal establishing an EU-wide School Fruit, Vegetables and Milk Scheme.

The proposal was put forward by the European Commission in January 2014. The European Parliament adopted its negotiating stance on it in May 2015, while the Council was given the mandate to start negotiations in October. The informal agreement was reached on 10 December.
