A government crisis started in Sweden on 3 December 2014 after the parliament rejected a proposed budget in favour of an alternative budget proposed by the centre-right opposition.

The minority centre-left government decided to call a snap election for March 2015. However, shortly before formally doing so, an agreement between the government parties and the centre-right opposition alliance was announced regarding the budget. As a result, the snap election would not take place.

This agreement, known as the 'December Deal', would last until 2022. Whichever of the six major parties were in opposition would promise not to block the government's proposed budget.
