25 years of the EBRD: The people’s view on transition is a commemorative publication released by The Office of the Chief Economist at the EBRD. This publication highlights some key findings based on the first two rounds of the Life in Transition Survey (LiTS) and some preliminary results from the next round, LiTS III, the full results of which will be available in autumn 2016. One of the most comprehensive studies of its kind, LiTS is conducted jointly by the EBRD and the World Bank. It contains a wealth of information about economic and social life in the transition region, and how lives have been affected by the global economic crisis and its aftermath. The EBRD uses LiTS to keep our fingers on the pulse of the transition region. It helps us gain insights into what people are happy about, what they are worried about, and how their economic lives are taking shape, as well as which groups have benefited most – and which have lost out – during the past 25 years of the transition process. |
