Further information: The aid is aimed to support the distribution of food by the World Food Programme as well as humanitarian logistical and transport capacity by the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS). This brings the total EU funding towards tackling the consequences of the conflict in the country to €196.7 million since 2015. Background information: The EU highlighted the deterioration of the situation on the ground, given the measures restricting humanitarian and commercial access together with the intense armed clashes and air strikes reported from the capital Sana'a. + Worsening humanitarian situation in Yemen amidst Saudi blockade The European Commission announced on 7 December 2017 the allocation of €25 million in humanitarian aid to support civilians in need in Yemen. |
