Anti-Brexit protesters march on parliament to demand a voice for the 48%

The New European is a weekly newspaper launched in July 2016 by the Archant media group. It defines itself as 'the national newspaper for the 48% who voted Remain at the EU Referendum'.Unite for Europe, a national umbrella group of campaigners for the United Kingdom to remain in the European Union, organised a National March to the UK Parliament in Westminster on the 25 March 2017. Reports estimated that the numbers marching were between 50,000 and 100,000.

Unite for Europe was timed to coincide with the UK Government’s stated intention to trigger Article 50 on the 29 March 2017.

In addition, the 25 March 2017 was the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome, which established the European Economic Community.

There had been some questioning as to the suitability of proceeding with the march following the terrorist incident in Westminster on the 22 March 2017 - however, organisers in the end decided to proceed.
