The European Peace Facility (EPF) is an off-budget instrument aimed at enhancing the European Union's ability to prevent conflicts, build peace and strengthen international security. It enables the financing of operational actions under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) that have military or defence implications.

Decision (CFSP) 2022/338 finances the provision of military equipment, and platforms, designed to deliver lethal forces to Ukraine in the context of Russia's invasion of this country. Additional support was introduced by Decision (CFSP) 2022/471. This further amendment increases the financial reference by an additional €450 million and the duration of assistance measure is extended by a further 24 months.

This Decision was adopted by the Council of the European Union on 13 April 2022 and published in the Official Journal on 19 April 2022.
