Economic portrait of the European Union 2001

This publication is designed to set out in a single volume wide-ranging macroeconomic data on the European Union and its Member States and to provide an analysis of that data. Along with business cycle effects, studies of structural differences between Member States and their developments are made. Although the analysis makes reference to specific national situations, its purpose is to draw a profile of the Union (EU-15) and the euro-zone (€-12) comparing it, where possible, with their main trading partners.
