Summary:

Set of conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union on 16 April 2021 concerning an EU strategy for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. These conclusions were approved via written procedure.

Further information:

The Council tasked the European Commission and the High Representative for Foreign Policy to prepare a Joint Communication on cooperation in the Indo-Pacific later in the year. This Communication should set out the European Union's intention to reinforce its strategic focus, presence and actions in this region. The aim is to contribute to regional stability, security, prosperity and sustainable development.
