Foreign Affairs Council, 25 November 2019

Summary:

A meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council was held on 25 November 2019. On this occasions, the Council focused on matters relating to Development. The agenda includes the following items:

• Briefing on the EU's engagement in the framework of the Global Compact on Refugees, ahead of the Global Refugee Forum;
• Briefing on the state of play regarding negotiations on a post-2020 partnership between the European Union and the ACP countries;
• Exchange of views on the future financial architecture for sustainable development, following a Report published by the Wise Persons Group;
• Discussion on how EU and Member States can better cooperate to support development of countries in transition;
• Exchange of views on the situation in Sudan;
• Exchange of views with Ethiopia's Education Minister on learning challenges in Africa from a gender equality perspective.
