French MPs back motion to recognise Palestine

Deputies in the French parliament (National Assembly) voted on the 2 December 2014 in favour of recognising the state of Palestine in a highly symbolic motion. The motion was not binding on the French government. Israel immediately warned that the vote would harm the peace process.
