Summary:

A meeting of the General Affairs Council (GAC) was held on 23 May 2022. The agenda included the following items:

• Discussion on the conclusions of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE) and the methodology to be used for following up on the proposals;
• Hearing on the values of the European Union in Hungary, in the framework of the Article 7(1) TEU procedure;
• Preparations for the forthcoming special meeting of the European Council on 30-31 May;
• Exchange of views on the annotated draft agenda for the European Council meeting in June;
• Adoption of a number of legislative items;
• Adoption of conclusions on the development of the European Union's cyber posture;
• Endorsement of the annual report on the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 on public access to documents.
