Report of a speech made by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in Germany 'Poland and the future of the European Union' on the 28 November 2011, and also an article he wrote for the Financial Times the following day 'I fear Germany's power less than her inactivity'.

Germany is the only country in Europe that can act to save the eurozone and the wider European Union from 'a crisis of apocalyptic proportions', the Polish foreign minister warned in a passionate call for more drastic action to prevent the collapse of the European monetary union.

Subsequently, a group of conservative MPs in Poland called for the dismissal of Poland's foreign minister. 'The foreign minister of our government made a kind of homage to Berlin without authorisation, or consultation with the President', ssaid MP Andrzej Dera of the Solidarity Poland group of politicians.
