Parliament divisions stop joint resolution to save environmental laws

On 15 January 2015, the European Parliament failed to approve ajoint resolution against the European Commission's move to to scrap a pending Circular Economy package which was announced during the presentation of the EC's 2015 Work Programme [click here for more information on this document].

The series of documents were put forward by several political groups. They had all called for pending EU laws on waste and recycling, known as the Circular Economy package, to be spared the axe from the Commission’s work programme for 2015.
