Summary:Legislative initiative tabled by the European Commission on 19 September 2022, introducing amendments to Directive 2000/14/EC, Directive 2006/42/EC, Directive 2013/29/EU, Directive 2014/28/EU, Directive 2014/29/EU, Directive 2014/30/EU, Directive 2014/31/EU, Directive 2014/32/EU, Directive 2014/33/EU, Directive 2014/34/EU, Directive 2014/35/EU, Directive 2014/53/EU and Directive 2014/68/EU regarding emergency procedures for the conformity assessment, adoption of common specifications and market surveillance due to a Single Market emergency. This is a text with EEA relevance. Further information:Directive 2000/14/EC aims to harmonise noise emission standards, conformity assessment procedures, noise level marking and the gathering of data on noise emissions. Directive (EU) 2006/42/EC - also known as the Machinery Directive - establishes a regulatory framework for placing machinery on the Single Market of the European Union (EU). Directive 2013/29/EU sets out rules to achieve the free movement of pyrotechnic articles in the European Union's internal market. Directive 2014/28/EU sets out rules for the placing on the market and supervision of explosives for civil uses. Directive 2014/29/EU concerns the harmonisation of the laws in the EU relating to the making available on the market of simple pressure vessels. Directive 2014/30/EU harmonises national legislation on electromagnetic compatibility. Directive 2014/31/EU lays down uniform rules on the sale and putting into service of non-automatic weighing instruments (NAWIs). Directive 2014/32/EU lays down uniform rules on the sale and putting into use of measuring instruments (MIs). Directive 2014/33/EU concerns the harmonisation of national laws relating to lifts and safety components for lifts. Directive 2014/34/EU concerns the harmonisation of national legislation relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Directive 2014/35/EU concerns the harmonisation national legislation relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits. Directive 2014/53/EU relates to the harmonisation of national law on the availability on the market of radio equipment. Directive 2014/68/EU concerns the harmonisation of national legislation relating to the making available on the market of pressure equipment. The amendments proposed in this initiative are related to a draft Regulation establishing a Single Market emergency instrument (SMEI), which was adopted alongside this draft law by the European Commission on 19 September 2022. |
