As Europe’s economies wriggle uncomfortably inside a fiscal straightjacket, the US economy continues to grow on the back of record deficits. Contrary to the current wisdom, it’s time that European economies took heed of their US cousins and realised that an increase in public borrowing is not anathema to growth and a strong economy in the current economic climate.
