Summary:

A meeting of the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (TTE) Council was held on 2 December 2021. The agenda focused on matters relating to Energy. It included the following items:

  • Exchange of views on the impact of high energy prices and possible mitigating measures at national and EU level;

  • Updates by national delegations:
    • Coexistence between renewable energy and biodiversity (Denmark)
    • Importance of ensuring nuclear safety at the Ostrovets nuclear power plant (Lithuania)
    • Impact of the existing 70 percent rule applicable to interconnections on offshore hybrid projects;
  • Presentation by the French Council Presidency of its work programme.
