Wales and the referendum on Scottish independence

On Thursday, 18 September 2014, a referendum will be held in Scotland on whether it wants to remain part of the UK or become an independent state. The poll represents the most important political decision that Scotland will make in several hundred years, since the existing Acts of Union were passed by the English and Scottish Parliaments in 1707.

This paper (and blog article) provides a timeline of the events and political developments that have led to the referendum itself, a summary of the main themes and issues in the referendum campaign so far, and an outline of the impact the referendum result will have on Wales.
