Background:

The European Development Days (EDD) are an annual initiative organised by the European Commission that brings the development community together so they can share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. The first edition was held in 2006 and a legacy book was published in 2014.

A key moment of the event in 2017 was the signature of the European Consensus on Development, a strategic document which outlines the future of European development policy.

The EU-African Business Forum was held in parallel on the same day, focussing on the key theme 'Investing in job creation.
