Recommendation on the prolongation of Schengen internal border controls

The Council of the European Union adopted on 11 November 2016 an implementing decision setting out a recommendation allowing for the prolongation of temporary internal border controls in exceptional circumstances.

The proposal recommending to five Schengen member states that they prolonged the temporary internal border controls for a maximum period of three months had submitted by the European Commission on 25 October.
