2020 European Semester Winter Package

Winter Package of the 2020 cycle of the European Semester, published by the European Commission on 26 February 2020.

In this framework, the European Commission published a set of documents:

• A set of 28 Country Reports, reflecting the Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy and focusing on four dimensions - environmental sustainability, productivity gains, fairness and macroeconomic stability;
• A Communication on the main findings of the Country Reports;
• A Proposal for a Council Decision on revising the existing employment guidelines;
• Fifth enhance surveillance report for Greece;
• Annual Work Programme of the Structural Reform Support Programme (SRSP).

For the first time, the Country Reports assess Member States' progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the macro-economic and employment policies that can help to achieve them. They also analyse the challenges and opportunities for each country arising from the climate and energy transition. In the same vein, they identify priorities for support by the Just Transition Fund.
