Video conference of education ministers, 30 November 2020

Summary:

EU Ministers responsible for matters relating to Education held a videoconference on 30 November 2020. The agenda included the following items:

• Debate on the goals and priorities of cooperation in education and training, following up on the Commission's Communication on the European Education Area and based on a discussion paper prepared by the Council Presidency;
• Briefing on the state of play concerning the negotiations on the Erasmus+ Regulation in the framework of the MFF 2021-2027;
• Briefing concerning a Council Recommendation on vocational education and training (VET) and Council conclusions on digital education in Europe;
• Briefing on the state of play concerning the impact of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in education and training across the EU, EFTA and EEA;
• Presentation by the Portuguese Council Presidency of its priorities in the area of education.
